The Best Stuff Ever .... for Grouting

Words from a tile contractor:

".... because by the time you buy your grout and xxx You could have afforded to go with spectra lock pro, which in my opinion is the best stuff ever. (For residential apps) I love it, and think it is a dream to clean up."

Nice BBQ ... with Stainless Grout

"Just thought you may want a copy of these. This is an outdoor kitchen I finished up today. Top is granite and marble installed with 310 epoxy and grouted with Laticrete Spectralock. Just a little 310 and a little Spectralock and it nearly installs itself... :-)"

Mercer Artwork Tiles

"Back a few years ago, I did a job for a guy named Alan Lapidus. Before he retired, he was a big name architect in resorts and office buildings-- was even on Trump's staff at one point (His father was legendary in the architectural world-- designed Grand Central Station, The Fontenbleau Hotel, among others).

Anyway, I did his master bath, and at that time, he had several pieces made by Mercer himself, given to him by Mercer's daughter, that he wanted mounted in his bathrooms walls, which were all white hex tile. I talked him out of it, into making a hanging piece, which he ultimately decided to use as a table top for his dock, and then mounted some of the pieces in a bench seat in his bedroom."

One Size Fits All. Almost

"Got the vest yesterday. Thanks! My 3 yr. old son thinks it is a present for him. He will grow into it. He was playing outside in the dirt, hence the dirty face. I think he will be a good mud man when he grows up."

"Busted open the front of my work boot today and my helper comes in from the truck with the 310 rapid and says give this a go.

Hey presto, it worked.

What type of thinset to use on a ceiling for shower ....?

“..... about the 4-XLT . I used it on a shower recently installing 12x12 ceramic on the ceiling. It worked great! Good initial grab and I was able to adjust and leave it without worry of it falling. Great stuff.”

Seven Wonders of the World ...?

A group of students was asked to list what they thought were the present "Seven Wonders of the World." Though there were some disagreements, the following received the most votes:

1. Egypt's Great Pyramids
2. Taj Mahal
3. Grand Canyon
4. Panama Canal
5. Empire State Building
6. St. Peter's Basilica
7. China's Great Wall

While gathering the votes, the teacher noted that one student had not finished her paper yet. So she asked the girl if she was having trouble with her list. The girl replied, "Yes, a little. I couldn't quite make up my mind because there are so many."

The teacher said, "Well, tell us what you have, and maybe we can help."

The girl hesitated, then read, "I think the 'Seven Wonders of the World' are:

1. To see
2. To hear
3. To touch
4. To taste
5. To feel
6. To laugh
7. And to love."

The room was so quiet you could have heard a pin drop. The things we overlook as simple and ordinary and that we take for granted are truly wondrous!

A gentle reminder -- that the most precious things in life cannot be built by hand or created by man or woman.

We're being Featured .... in one of our Distributor's newsletters

Here is what the Bedrosians Salt Lake City branch Universal News newsletter features this month:

LATICRETE offers cutting edge technologies that allow for faster, more economical methods of installing tile and stone. One of Laticrete’s newest products – LATICRETE® 4-XLT (FOR EXTRA LARGE TILE) is a new multi-use, polymer fortified adhesive mortar designed to allow for fast and easy installations of large format tile or stone on walls without sagging, medium-bed installations built up to ¾” (18 mm) without shrinkage, and thin-set flooring applications over virtually any approved substrate.

LATICRETE 4-XLT is built on the new LATICRETE Water Dispersion Technology™ (WDT) platform. WDT provides for the complete dispersion of water within the mix allowing users to achieve the desired application consistency. In addition, LATICRETE 4-XLT is the first product from LATICRETE to come incorporated with the new LATICRETE DUST LOCK™ Technology. This unique way of manufacturing the adhesives dramatically reduces mess both during transportation of the product as well as during mixing, creating a cleaner, dust-free environment.

Innovative plastic packaging also allows for diminished effects weather can have on materials stored on the job site and provides a non-slip coating for safety.

LATICRETE 4-XLT is available in both grey and white versions and is packaged in 50lb recyclable polyethylene bags.

Please visit for additional technical information.
