Truth or Consequences, NM

I received an email and photo.

"Kate Jessup (maker of mosiac stumps) here. I mentioned that I started a mosaic project in Truth or Consequences, NM and it's going incredibly well. I got a giant crate of tile and Laticrete 254 thinset dropped off out here in the middle of nowhere.  ( 254 is blowing my mind, thank you and Mike Werner for the reccommendation)

Quick question: I can't stand the idea of using anything but Permacolor to grout and I found out that I can get some supplies in El Paso, TX tonight. Can you shoot me the info for your rep in that area so I can find a good place to get some? (Or pass my info along to him/her. Looking for Natural Grey, Quarry Red, White, Desert Khaki)

Sorry to bother you with such a trivial question! But I'm desperate to avoid the silly brand at the local hardware store.

I hope you are doing well!

I'll send some pictures of the project if you're interested.

Best wishes,
Kate"

Incredible Glass Mosaic Tile & Travertine Pool

Designed and built by Hydroscapes Inc.

"Three classic elements were used here. Turkish travertine with a honed and unfilled finish, polished black granite, and paper mount Sicis glass mosaic. Simplicity and clean lines create a very elegant and everlasting finish.

Foremost in this design is the permanence of the finishes. When installed correctly, and maintained properly, this structure will last for hundreds of years. Sometimes people forget the main purpose of stone and tile finishes are their durability and ease of maintenance. The gorgeous designs, beautiful colors and textures are just dessert!!!"

Visitors To Laticrete Today

Elmo entertained some visitors to Laticrete today from Mexico....!

The gentleman on the left is a "Mosaic Artisan" from the Kolorines Glass Mosaic Tile factory, Giuseppe Semeraro. He is responsible for their Mosaic training programs. He teaches mosaic artists at the Mosaics in Mexico school. You can read about him here: http://www.mosaicsinmexico.com/Faculty.asp

The gentleman on the right is the Commercial Manager of Laticrete Mexico. Click here for information on Laticrete Mexico.

We had a lovely set of meetings and hands on demos ... and conversations with our visitors about beautiful mosaic projects that they have been involved with that have been installed with Laticrete. We also chatted a bit about the benefits of the Laticrete "One Step Method" for installing Kolorines Glass Mosaic tiles ...!

Not all glass tile is the same

A quote from a posting on the JB Tile Forum:

"Not all glass tile is the same. Some scratch and some don't. Your idea to test it on some scrap is a good idea."

While we have had great acceptance, use and results with SpectraLOCK with many types of glass tiles on many installations, there are many different types of glass tiles available.

So ..

It is best to test the specific grout that you plan on using BEFORE making the final grouting installation...!

This is true for SpectraLOCK as well as "normal" Portland Cement based grouts.
