Mosaic Mural Tells The Time !

Incredible Mosaic Mural Art!

In 2005 Susan Marie commissioned a UWA* Graduate, artist Shaun Tan, to create a west-facing sundial, and now the perfect time and place has been found for its installation. As the Director of UWA Extension, part of UWA’s community outreach, Susan envisioned an accessible public artwork that celebrates a Centenary of UWA’s achievements.
Celebrating the University of Western Australia’s 100th year with a beautiful, timeless and inspiring artwork that will last far into the next century, the Hours to Sunset project pays tribute to the contribution of UWA’s graduate and academic cohort to Western Australia’s intellectual and artistic life.

Infinity Tower

Infinity Tower is a skyscraper recently completed by Cayan Real Estate Investment & Development in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Construction of the 330 m (1,080 ft) building began in February 2006 and was completed in 2012.
The completed project is 73 stories tall and is the world's tallest high rise building with a twist of 90˚. The tower twist is similar to the Turning Torso in Malmö, Sweden, and other recent projects in Doha and elsewhere, and will be the tallest in the world to do so.
However, unlike the Turning Torso, which is a series of cantilevered plates rotated about a straight structure, Infinity Tower's much larger floor plates actually require the structure to be twisted as it raises from level to level. Each floor is rotated by 1.2˚ to achieve the full 90˚ spiral, creating the shape of a helix. The tower contains residential apartments, conference rooms, tennis courts, pools, a state of the art gymnasium, a nursery and a spa.

Laticrete is proud to have been involved with this incredible project.  This outstanding project depends on Laticrete tile and stone installation materials in a wide range of areas.

Innovation & Change

Innovation and Change
Laticrete is known across the United States and around the world for innovation and changing the way tile and stone are installed.
We focus on engineering materials and methods for the permanent, problem-free installation of tile and stone. We focus on the fact that construction techniques and methods are evolving and changing. The way we "build buildings" today is not the same as a generation ago. We build taller, thinner, lighter and faster. We build with a new emphasis on energy efficiency and "Green."
Laticrete is your "Technical Partner" to address these critical issues. Our technologies, materials, methods and technical support help ensure that YOUR tile and stone installations on your construction projects are built with the technologies of today rather than yesterday.

Al Hamra Tower - Kuwait City

The Al Hamra Tower is a skyscraper in Kuwait City, Kuwait. Designed by architectural firm Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, the tower is the tallest building in Kuwait at 412.6 m - 1,354 ft.
It is the tallest sculpted tower in the world.
The stone clad facade acts a protective skin from the desert sun where temperatures top 55 degrees Celcius - 130 degrees F. The stone cladding is installed with Laticrete !

Celebrate ! Valentine's Day !

Saint Valentine's Day, commonly known as Valentine's Day, or the Feast of Saint Valentine, is observed on February 14 each year. It is celebrated in many countries around the world, although it remains a working day in most of them. It is the second most celebrated holiday around the world second to New Year's Day.

St. Valentine's Day began as a liturgical celebration of one or more early Christian saints named Valentinus. The most popular martyrology associated with Saint Valentine was that he was imprisoned for performing weddings for soldiers who were forbidden to marry and for ministering to Christians, who were persecuted under the Roman Empire; during his imprisonment, he is said to have healed the daughter of his jailer Asterius. Legend states that before his execution he wrote "from your Valentine" as a farewell to her. Today, Saint Valentine's Day is an official feast day in the Anglican Communion, as well as in the Lutheran Church. The Eastern Orthodox Church also celebrates Saint Valentine's Day, albeit on July 6th and July 30th, the former date in honor of the Roman presbyter Saint Valentine, and the latter date in honor of Hieromartyr Valentine, the Bishop of Interamna (modern Terni).

The day was first associated with romantic love in the circle of Geoffrey Chaucer in the High Middle Ages, when the tradition of courtly love flourished. By the 15th century, it had evolved into an occasion in which lovers expressed their love for each other by presenting flowers, offering confectionery, and sending greeting cards (known as "valentines"). Valentine's Day symbols that are used today include the heart-shaped outline, doves, and the figure of the winged Cupid. Since the 19th century, handwritten valentines have given way to mass-produced greeting cards.
