Santa Barbara Seal Mosaic

The 2014 award for Public Open Space was presented to Mosaic Artist Betsy Gallery for her mosaic of the Seal of the City of Santa Barbara, which forms part of the award given to The Sea Landing Walkway at the Santa Barbara Harbor.

Alfred Ramirez MFA installed the mosaic.

Erin Carroll ASLA of Arcadia Studio was the project landscape architect.

Betsy fabricated the mosaic of the Seal of the City of Santa Barbara using Dal porcelain tile. As a secret extra she put Laticrete Glow-in-the-Dark grout behind the lighthouse windows. Take a look on a dark, but not stormy, night!
